NO Pants April 2015: Day 30

NO Pants April Day 30. This is the end, folks :)
I know that everyone is probably tired of it by now, but I'm sold. S.O.L.D. Anywho, here I am rambling, and you just want to know what I wore that day.
OUTFIT:
Black knit tee with tan scroll work on it, and a long tan skirt with scroll work. A good combo. Piggietails, dangly ball earrings, and a silly grin for the last day of NPA 2015. Somehow I missed a picture of it, sorry.

MAKE UP: BB Cream, eyeliner, a bit of tinted lip balm, and a sweep of mascara. Boom, done!
Did I mention, BOOM! NPA 2015, I have enjoyed nearly every single second of you. I took care of my household, I lived, I traveled and I worked in skirts. No one died, I got more compliments in one month than I normally garner in a year, and I felt pretty. Not bad for this old lady. :) See you next year!

NO Pants April 2015: Day 29

OK, y'all. This is the final stretch. We're almost through April, and since you've all hung in there with me all this month, I won't bore you by waxing poetic about NPA 2015. I'll just post a picture and hush. Here we go.
Outfit: Long 2 tone green and brown gypsy skirt with gold beads and a brown knit tee. Dangly beaded earrings, and a bracelet. Probably my favorite NPA outfit. Ever. Comfy, stylish and flattering.

Make Up: BB Cream, Eye Liner, Mascara and Lip Balm. Out the door. :)

NO Pants April: Day 28 = FAIL

Hi friends! No, I didn't wear pants, but I somehow managed not to get a single picture of myself today. (My ego is ok with that. LOL) At any rate, know that I did wear a skirt, and do my hair pretty and wear a little make up. I just don't have photographic evidence of it. But I think after 7 years of blogging, I've earned a bit of trust so it's all good. Hope you're enjoying YOUR No Pants April 2015!!

NO Pants April 2015: Day 27

Here we are, almost to the end of No Pants April 2015. Have you been enjoying it as much as I have? I may stretch it into No Pants Life! :) Dan doesn't care much about NPA, per se, but is enjoying me wearing makeup, jewelry and doing more with my hair. So, we will see if I can manage to keep that going after April, skirts or not.
At any rate, you're here for pictures, not chatter this month, so here it goes.
Outfit: Brown Knit Sleeveless dress, pink t-shirt under it, pink Converse and no jewelry.

Hmmm, I'm not sure how I feel about this outfit now that I see the picture. I will have to think about that one.

Make up: BB Cream, shadow, liner, mascara and pink lipstick
Like my photo bomber? :)

NO Pants April 2015: Day 26

HI friends! Just another day in skirt wearing paradise :)
Outfit: Teal and grey printed skirt, WHITE t-shirt, high heeled sandals and a pink matched set of necklace, earrings, and bracelet handmade for me by a dear friend.
Oops, I had already taken off my cute sandals.
Make up: BB cream, shadow, liner, mascara and tinted lip balm.

Too much flash. Note to self: When taking selfies, always turn off the flash.

NO Pants April 2015: Day 25

I think I changed my clothes 6 times today. One outfit for work, one for the gymnastics banquet and graduation party, one for working at home, and one for lounging at home. And at least 2 wardrobe changes due to forgetting to take pictures in the right clothes. LOL! Well, at least I got my exercise for the day, right?

Outfit: Long tan embroidered skirt, black "Gymnasts" tee, and brown flats. I wore this to work. There doesn't seem to be a picture of what I wore to the banquet, so I'll just give you extras of my work clothes. :)

Make up: Just BB cream and mascara to work. Added a little more flair for the banquet. Washed it ALL off once I was home for the evening. Sorry honey!

NO Pants April 2015: Day 24

Well, it's official. I've taken my OWN picture so many times this month that my memory card in my most used camera is full. So now I've resorted to stealing the memory card out of my field trip/vacation camera. Oh boy!
Outfit:Long 2 tone green and gold gypsy skirt, brown t-shirt, brown flats. Curled bangs, and silver drop earrings, plus green and gold beaded earrings.
**Apparently, I forgot to take an outfit picture. Sorry. But it looked approximately like this.

This is a re-posted picture. But same outfit as today.
Make up: BB cream, tinted lip balm and mascara.

NO Pants April 2015: Day 23

We're in the final stretch people! How are you doing on No Pants April 2015? Don't forget to check in over at And Then There Were None, where my friend Kiter is blogging about her NPA 2015 styles :)

Outfit: Burnt orange wrap skirt with uneven hemline (SO LOVING this skirt) and a white tee with a floral print on it. Brown flats complete the outfit and it is so comfy, it's practically like wearing pjs all day, but looking way better.
OK, so I am thinking I need a different top for this outfit. I'll keep looking.
Make up: BB cream, lip balm and a light sweep of mascara. I'm thinking this is my fave look/feel. It improves my look, making me look polished and put together, while still not feeling like wearing a full face of make up. I love compromise.

NO Pants April 2015: Day 22

How is everyone else doing on No Pants April 2015? I am still digging it, and to prove it, I gardened this evening while sporting a floral skirt. See?
Outfit: Floral skirt with lilac underskirt peeking out, a lilac t-shirt, brown flats, silver drop earrings and several beaded bracelets.

Pretty skirt, dirty nails and freshly sprouted lettuce. Good times.
Please forgive me as I didn't take a face selfie today. I have a toothache and feel puffy and gross. But I still donned BB cream, a bit of brown eyeliner, mascara and pink tinted lip balm. I just didn't take a picture of it. ;)

NO Pants April 2015: Day 21

Day 21 already? Wow, we're 3 full weeks into NPA 2015! Who is having so much fun?? Me me me!

Outfit: Long tan skirt with embroidery, black t shirt, and brown flats. Hair is curled and make up is minimal today.

Sorry for the wide angle, DT was my photographer today.

Make up: BB cream, liner, mascara and pink lipstick.

Today, I'm going for the shortest answer possible that still answers the question. Wish me luck :) We all KNOW I'm a chatty Cathy.

NO Pants April 2015: Day 18

This is probably my favorite new skirt. It's just amazing. I've always loved long-Long-LONG skirts, with beading and pretty patterns, but until I emerged from 20 years of playing with toddlers in the dirt, I could really indulge that love affair. But now that my own kiddos are biggie boys, and Little Miss is old enough to not need to be carried much anymore, I can purchase things like that. And so I did!
Outfit: Long 2 tone green and gold 'gypsy' skirt with brown knit shirt, brown flats and gold hoop earrings.

Make up: Keeping it simple again, BB Cream, lipstick, mascara and a sweep of light shadow.

The original kind of  *selfie*

NO Pants April 2015: Day 17

Squeal! Two days ago I went to the King's Treasure thrift store and scored really huge, coming home with 6 new-to-me pieces for under $4. Yesterday, I went to Good Will and came home with 2 new-to-me beauties plus an angel food pan for $10, and the pan was a little over $4 alone. So, with that in mind, I think I'm SET for the rest of NPA 2015. With a unit price of less than $1.25 each, I don't mind if one falls apart in the wash, or I step on one and rip it before the end of the month. And if I'm careful with them, they will last me at least until No Pants April 2016. :)

Outfit: Burnt Orange Wrap Knit skirt with uneven hemline ( a first for me) a white t-shirt with a floral print on it, brown flats. Sphere dangly earrings.

I CAN'T FIND MY PICTURES!! AAAGH! I will look for them on my phone later this evening and see if I can update for you. Or I'll have to recreate them if they are truly missing.

Make up: Bare Skin, mascara and lip balm. Just the basics.

NO Pants April 2015: Day 16

Hi Friends, I fell behind while I was away last weekend and am just starting to get back on track, so I'm going to catch up backwards. Here is today's outfit for NPA 2015

Outfit: NEW SKIRT from the local thrift (75 cents!!) aqua and grey print, coral t-shirt, tan high heeled sandals. Pearl earrings.

Make up: BB Cream, 3 shades of shadow, a bit of liner, a sweep of mascara and lip balm.

NO Pants April 2015: Day 15

I am still SO loving this month! My Friend Kiter, over at  And Then There Were None, is super smart! This is great. I may even declare it to be No Pants MAY soon :) I'm going to the thrift store on my way home from work today to see if I can score some new skirts.

Outfit: Long Pink and White Crinkle skirt with simple brown t-shirt. Brown flats, a beaded bracelet and sphere dangle earrings complete the outfit.

Make up: I'm a natural looking girl at heart, so BB Cream, a sweep of mascara, a bit of eyeliner, and tinted lip balm is my fave look. I look polished and well put together without looking "Made up". Here I am amongst my glorious roses.

UPDATE: Here's a peek at the fun new things I found at the thrift store! I bought a knit dress, 2 skirts, and a complete outfit for less than $4. Hurray for purple tags being 75% off the day I wandered in!

NO Pants April 2015: Day 14

HI Friends, another beautiful day of skirt wearing in paradise :) Join us if you like. Kiter can be found blogging about No Pants April on her blog, And Then There Were None.  I am going out to breakfast with a friend, so I wanted to look extra good today.

Outfit: Blue and Yellow printed long Crinkle skirt, navy t-shirt and brown flats. I also wore 3 beaded bracelets, pearl and silver heart drop earrings, AND a necklace. I never wear necklaces, too many years among the little ones that pull on them, I suppose. :)

Make up: A FULL face worth: BB Cream, 3 shades of shadow plus liner and heavy mascara (I regretted that decision) and brownish pink lipstick.

I can't find my up close pic on the camera. I'll update when I (hopefully) find one on my phone or Kindle. Sorry.

NO Pants April 2015: Day 13

HI Friends, I'm back from my road trip and so pleased with myself that I even road tripped during No Pants April and I didn't wear pants. Woot! I can live with that answer!

Outfit: I went for comfort today, not style. Sorry friends, I can't be awesome every day. LOL! Gray knit skirt, Convoy of Hope t-shirt, and pink Converse. Bad hair, no jewelry and bags under my eyes complete the look. ;)

Make up: Tried too hard to hide being exhausted, but and extra layer of BB Cream, a bit of shadow and liner, mascara and lipstick.

NO Pants April 2015: Day 12

Y'all...I'm not even going to lie. The pictures for today are hideous. I've had about 12 hours sleep TOTAL over the last 3 nights (road tripping with a teenager will do that to you) and I look awful. Today is Sunday and hurray hurray, we get to drive. All. Day. Long. I can't wait to get home to my hubby and other boys. And I'm a wreck. So don't judge all of NPA 2015 by these pics, ok? OK.

Outfit: Floral skirt with Purple underskirt, lilac t-shirt and brown flats. No jewelry and no pretty hair. Just crawl out of bed and throw on some clothes.

OH MY GRAVY! The picture is worse than I thought. Now I don't know if I want to share it.

Make up: None, just puffy eyes and dry skin. Go me!

I Survived!

I Survived....I survived...I survived! I made it all the way through gymnastics competitive season without feeling like a nervous breakdown was rapidly approaching. And without eating fast food 8 meals in a row like last year. And without mayhem and drama over coaches, traveling plans and the like. And that was amazing considering this year we added a move across town during competitive season so that we wouldn't get bored. LOL! After 5 years of competition, I may have finally gotten the hang of this. :)
Praise the LORD!

David is already talking about next season, so looks like we will be able to enjoy our well earned knowledge for a few more years. Woot!
I love this shirt, and this Man-Child.

Make up: The natural look. BB Cream, mascara and a bit of eyeliner, tinted lip balm. My fave.

NO Pants April 2015: Day 9

Just a quick post today before I head out on a road trip with my 17 year old son for Regional Gymnastics Competition. I will be away from the computer for a few days, but will be taking pictures to share when I return. Have a great weekend everyone!

Outfit: Today was all about comfort, and not wearing anything I wanted to take on the trip. LOL!
Blue jumper, gray seamed t-shirt, no show socks, and pink Converse. I said it before and I'll say it again, everything goes with Converse, amen. No jewelry, no hair doo dahs, as both categories were packed for the trip.

CONVERSE!!
Make up: Bare faced since that was packed as well.
Bare faced
Sepia Selfie. I like the edited pictures better.

Throw Back Thursday

Through back Thursday indeed. Patrick, here's another for you :)
ALL the NM cousins in one place at one time. What a bunch of silliness all in one place. I'm so pleased that they all get along so well.

NO Pants April 2015: Day 8

Outfit: floral skirt with underskirt peeking out, lilac t-shirt, beaded bracelets, better hair and high heeled sandals today. GLORIOUS!
Make up: Natural look today, with BB Cream, lip balm, a bit of eyeliner and a swish of mascara.

Life with Patrick...

Is NEVER EVER...

Boring. Bwuahahahahahahahah!!

Yes, I am aware that I am 41, but I can still rock the piggie tails if I do say so myself.

Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today... April 8, 2015

Outside my window...the sun is just beginning to peek over the mountains, the air is cool and calm and the birds are chirping from the bushes outside the door. The weatherman predicts a high of 84* and partly cloudy today. Sounds like a lovely day to me.
I am thinking...that I really have so much to accomplish today that I shouldn't be doing this right now. But I am going to anyway. LOL!

I am thankful... for sunshine on my back, healthy boys that keep me hopping, and a handsome hubby that loves me...in SPITE of me.
I am wearing... my pjs still. Shh, don't tell! Later I'll be donning a skirt in honor of No Pants April, as started by my good friend Kim. My posts about it can be found here and Kim shares here.

I am creating...plans for the weekend trip to Colorado Springs for David, Karen and myself, while the rest of the Man Crew stays home (this is the part that scares me)

I am wondering...what to take along for entertainment. The 3 of us have very different tastes in music, movies, books and games. So this may get tricky :)

I am reading..."Interrupted" by Jen Hatmaker. It's moving me.

I am hoping...that David qualifies for the National Competition while we are at the Regional Competition this weekend. (David is a competitive gymnast)

I am learning...that while I am their sole teacher for school, everything my boys DO or DO NOT know is not necessarily a reflection on me. I haven't decided how I feel about that yet.

In my garden...The roses are about to explode with blooms! They are COVERED in buds and the rose bushes are taller than me. I can't wait for my mom to see them when she gets home. Derek's lettuce sprouts are growing quite well and he is very pleased.

In my kitchen...is a mess. I wasn't home last night and the Man Crew had to fend for themselves. *sigh* Someday, the lessons I've taught about cleaning up after themselves will sink in, right? At least all the dishes made it back to the kitchen, I should be grateful for small improvements :) On the meal planning side of life:
  • Monday was leftover buffet
  • Tuesday was Chicken and mashed potatoes (but the men opted to skip that for more leftovers)
  • Jambalaya (we are learning about Louisiana in our homeschool lessons this week)
  • Nacho Bar
  • Game Night: veggies, chips and dip
  • Saturday and Sunday: Freezer Food Fest as Mama will be out of town and the men have to fend for themselves for a few days.
In the homeschool room...DT and I are a bit behind on our bookwork as we got caught up in our science experiments and hands on 'work', but I'm going to call that a hard earned victory after years of worrying excessively about staying on schedule, to the detriment of my boys' love of learning. So, for today we are learning how to make jambalaya since we are studying the history of Louisiana.

A favorite quote for today...
“I'm going to bed tonight grateful for warmth, an advantage so expected it barely registers. May my privileges continue to drive me downward to my brothers and sisters without. Greater yet, I'm tired of calling the suffering "brothers and sisters" when I'd never allow my biological siblings to suffer likewise. That's just hypocrisy veiled in altruism. I won't defile my blessings by imagining that I deserve them. Until every human receives the dignity I casually enjoy, I pray my heart aches with tension and my belly rumbles for injustice.”
Jen Hatmaker, 7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess

A peek into one of my days...Oh goodness, don't look! My life is a huge pile of what I like to call *organized chaos* and that pretty well sums it up. However, if you choose to wade into the fray, you'll find me running around like a headless chicken, laughing all through the days filled with homeschooling, teenagers, horse riding lessons, a naughty 4 year old, piano lessons, a silly 9 year old, gymnastics every single day, a hubby that answers to Hercules, and way too much driving in circles behind the wheel of the Mama Taxi. Something always smells good in the kitchen, the TV is always on (sigh) and one of the animals is needing to be fed. Life isn't boring, that's for sure :)
Me, at the end of a day spent mothering this band of boys I call mine, and living the dream.

One of my favorite things...my life.

NO Pants April 2015: Day 7

HI friends, just another day in skirt wearing paradise :) I will apologize in advance for my pictures today. I had a helper *ahem* while taking them. Outfit: Long pink and white skirt with sparkles attached (always a bonus), hot pink t-shirt, brown flats, beaded bracelet and silver heart drop earrings.

Hi Derek! Sadly, he is hunched over so as not to be taller than me. He's 9. LOL!

Make up: Still taking it easy on my face, but wanted to brave mascara again so I opted for BB Cream, light shadow, lip balm and mascara only on the top lashes.

Hi Self. I didn't do anything fancy with my hair today. I'll do better tomorrow. Promise.
PS. If you're enjoying this and want to play along, please do. If you are interested in the origins of No Pants April, head on over to my friend Kim's blog to check it out.
