The Best Thing I've Heard All Week

A brilliant friend of mine called her new boyfriend a 'gentleman savage' on Facebook this week, and it struck a chord in me. It...

A Parental Sidebar

As most of you know, my parents just spent a week here. It was sooo great! I can't even tell you how wonderful it was to have them here. The kids loved it! We went to the park several times to shoot hoops, slide and swing, and have picnics...all at different parks. We apartment/house hunted for Jodi and Karen, spent countless hours playing farkle and just hanging out together. Dad's 72nd birthday was on Friday so we had a small party for him and he was on top of his game that day and had a blast. Derek remembered them which they were concerned about...and actually has been looking for them since they left on Saturday morning. We are looking forward to the routine returning to normal and spending time getting Karen ready to move. All of you know that I don't believe in luck or coincidences, but this one fell right out of the sky! Karen and Dolli were looking at the paper today for possible rentals...they found one that Dolli really liked and she decided to go look at it even though we couldn't get in today. I went with her and after peeking in the windows, went home to report that is was a great house, for a good price, in a great neighborhood and only 2 miles away! So, Karen decided to call and see if they could walk through tomorrow...hoping that the landlord was of a decent sort and not too picky...well guess who answered? Jose...the landlord for this house...and she LOVES him! How about that?!? I thought that was pretty cool! So, things are going pretty well around here. All we have to do is get school back on track this week and that's not a problem at all. In fact, I bet the boys wouldn't admit it, but they have been missing the routine that school brings to the house. Things get pretty chaotic without school in the middle of the day to keep us centered...LOL! Anywho~must go, much to accomplish yet tonight...love to you all! Missing you all also!

A new Meyer Family picture...I kinda like it!
PS. Sorry about so many pictures, but we had such fun! Mom told stories about growing up on the farm, Dad seemed to be doing better than I had dared to hope; even to playing basketball everyday with Davis, Pat and Ty... and the boys were so good while they were here...can't wait to have them here again!

Dad and Mom come to visit

My parents are here!! Did I mention that I am thrilled about that?! We had an almost uneventful week around here and I managed (after 8 hours at the MVD) to procure a new licence so that I could start my new job at Kohl's. I work the 8 to 12 shift setting up signs for the next day's sales. I may eventually get too tired to function, but for now it's fun. Dan keeps the kids while I am gone so no child care costs...thank you Jesus! School went really well this week, but with Dad and Mom here, we may lose a few days. That's OK, family is important and the work will still be there later. Did I mention that I'm thrilled that my parents are here? Jodi seems to be sure about moving here in the fall and I'm pretty pleased about that, too! Anywho~ I've checked in at the other blogs and it seems that everyone's life is doing alright for the moment. I am glad that everyone is well and healthy. I need to scoot, much visiting to cram into the next 6 days! We are missing everyone and can't wait the to them during the much anticipated trip this June...cross your fingers...LOL! Lost Boys, Mama K loves you! Everyone else...hoping to see you soon!

Love to all,

PS. I think that I haven't posted pics of Dan's new tats yet so here they are...Chicago and the 3 crosses are for our hometown and our new town (the city symbol for Las Cruces is 3 crosses) and the other is just turning his tribal into an armband...they both look good on him and he is really enjoying them...he may turn into a tatoo freak yet...oh, dear!
PSS. I got my nose re-pierced..ouchie!...but this one turned out much better.

Just Popping in

This one will be short if it kills me! I just want to say that school has successfully been restarted, much to David and Pat's horror; Dan has gone back to work, much to his delight; and order has been restored to the Meyer/Balding/Myers household, much to mine! We can't wait to see Dad and Mom next week and visit with them. For those who might be interested, I now officially work for Kohl's and I start next week in the Ad Set department, so if you need to know when the good sales are coming, you know who to call. LOL! I don't think I have any new pictures this week, but I probably post too many anyway...sorry! OK, I'm done! I am feeling homesick this week, probably since Dad and Mom are coming. I wish you all could come a visit.
Love to All,

There, see? I can write something short...Ha ha...Victory!!

A nice, boring week...Thank you, Jesus!!

Greetings from sunny New Mexico...it has been in the upper 70s to the mid 80s for a week or two now and everything is starting to blossom and bloom...gorgeous! This week and last has been a nice relaxing break to follow all the visitors and prepare for the next set. Dan has still been home and probably goes back on Thursday(PTL!), but I must say that this is the first time ever that he has spent an extended amount of time off of work that I did not worry about money and that he hasn't driven me completely bonkers. That's a praise right there! The boys have had an extended spring break due to Dan's presence, but they are doing school no matter what tomorrow...or maybe the next day...LOL! Anywho~ we are just relaxing and lazing about...LOL! Just wanted to pop in and say hi! Dad and Mom are coming next Saturday and staying for a week..Hurray!!! Karen is still looking for a job, Dolli is here and we are enjoying her soooo much, and rumor has it another Smith girl will be moving here before the year is out. The only sad news is that Dan and I have looked at the financial books many times and have decided that I won't be able to afford the trip to IL for Josh's graduation...*sigh* But, on the upside...Karen has started walking with me...how cool is that?? I am tickled pink! I need to scoot and put some kids to bed, but I will check in at the weeks' end to see how everyone is doing. Lost boys, Mama K loves you! Everyone else... We love you, too! Miss you all SOOO much!
Blessings,
