Another Summer Week Floats By

Greeting from Sunny New Mexico. It has been a slow lazy week around here. It has been very humid around here, which is rare..but unfortunately, that means the swamp coolers don't do much to cool it off around...so it has been very hot and sweaty at our house this week. I have had to work almost every night this week, so I am dragging, big time! The boys have had fun just being lazy and not doing much on anything. We had our weekly picnic, and while we were at the park, David finally got the guts to do a back flip of off the equipment. He is quite proud and I will try to get a video for next week's post. Derek found a caterpillar...he was sooooo proud of it and started yelling, "Guess what?!?? Come look!!" SO CUTE! Pat finally got his picture with little Ryan so he was pleased and all was well. Anywho~ Not a whole lot to report, so I'll just a few pics and sign off. Lost boys, Mama K loves you! We miss you all...come and visit!
Blessings,

God Bless the Parents Who Drugged Us...

I didn't write this one, Mom, I found it on my cafemom site and asked for permission to copy it here...I just loved it. Hope you all enjoy it too!!
GOD BLESS THE PARENTS WHO DRUGGED US..
The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a Methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhetorical question. "Why didn't we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?" I replied, I had a drug problem when I was young: I was drug to church on Sunday morning. I was drug to church for weddings and funerals. I was drug to family reunions and community socials no matter the weather. I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults. I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn't put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me. I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profanity. I was drug out to pull weeds in mom's garden and flowerbeds and cocklebur's out of dad's fields. I was drug to the homes of family, friends and neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, repair the clothesline, or chop some firewood; and, if my mother had ever known that I took a single dime as a tip for this kindness, she would have drug me back to the woodshed. Those drugs are still in my veins and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say, or think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin; and, if today's children had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place. God bless the parents who drugged us.

Simple Pleasures

Greetings from still raining NM! It may not be sunny this week, but things have been sunny inside with us! I have let the boys just be bums this week, watch TV, play video games and jump on the trampoline when it wasn't storming. I only had to work 1 night this week, so I caught up on some sleep and spent some much needed time with the hubbs. Dolli, Ty and Ryan visited on Monday and we let Dan hog the baby while Dolli and I had a long chat about marriage, new babies and hovering grandparents...hee hee! We had a few nice relaxing days and then Thursday we had game night with the gang. Karen, Ty, Dolli with Ryan, Charlie and Devon all came to play games. Well, Karen held the baby and visited, but we were thrilled to have her with us once again. After she left, the serious gaming began...then when it was time for Ryan to go to bed, Dolli packed her up and took Ty and Devin home for a sleepover. Charlie stayed and Dan and I had a BALL swapping stories from our younger and stupid-er days and discussing taboo subjects such as religion and politics...let me also add for those of you who don't know...Charlie is a pagan, liberal Democrat...you can imagine how lively that discussion got...WooHoo! We had fun! So here we are on a Happy Friday (WooHoo!) and things are great! I have had much fun being an admin for an Internet cleaning group at Cafemom...and I actually had to look for things to clean today...my house is shiny! Dan is happy and I can't tell you the last time I stepped on a Lego...my feet are sooo happy! Anywho~ enough rambling, I promised Dan that this would be short...and I'm doing my best. Love you all and miss you much. Lost boys, Mama K loves you sooo much!

Blessings to you all from the Lord Above,

Kristy

PS.Some cute pics from this week

SO Much Good News!

Hello to everyone. I normally start with greetings from sunny NM..but this week it's more like greetings from rainy NM...Mike, Jay and 'Shua brought the rain and forgot to take it home with them...it has rained almost everyday since they arrived last Tuesday...hee hee! AS we are A, in the desert and B in the midle of a drought, this is a good thing, but I wll admit even I'm getting tired of the rain...and the boys are going stir crazy!

Anywho~on to the weekly updates! Mike, Jay and 'Shua were here until early Saturday morning and we had fun together. Mike got his first and probably ONLY tattoo. We ate at a nice Mexican Restaraunt, hung out and chatted. Joshua and I had some sweet chats and it did my Mama heart good to see him again...I miss that boy!!

Dan is still working which I consider a small miracle...they told him early this week that he would be laid off at the week's end, but now they are say ing that they have work for him for quite some time...Thank you, Jesus!!

We have adopted the tradition of homemeade pizza on Fridays and the boys did it all themselves tonight except for making the dought for the crust...it was really good! The boys are still pleased to be out of school and have spent more hours in front of TV, video games and movies than I care to count. They have also spent many happy hours playing together and reading quietly which always makes me proud!

Derek has officially graduated to the big boy bed permanently, David took down the crib today. Yes, you read it right...David did it all himself and even took it to the garage and stored it out of the way. We shall see how Derek does from now on about sleeping...I've discovered a secret weapon in getting him to sllep at naptime...if he won't lay still, I put him on the couch and turn on a Gaither video...he's asleep in about 3 minutes...hee hee!

In other areas...Jodi FINALLY had that baby. Titus was born Wednesday morning by C-section. She was in labor and she tried, but he was just stuck...7.1 pounds and 21 inches...that's HUGE baby for her!!! He looks like James, but he has my nose...that's FUNNY! They are still planning to move here in about 6 or 7 weeks..please pray that all go smoothly and that they can afford to get here.

Dolli and Ryan are doing well and we spent 4th of July with them at Jeff and Cheryl's house...for those who don't know that's Karen's ex and his new wife...it was a bit awkward at first, but we did alright. I'm glad I got there first because once Dan got there, no one else got a chance...baby hog! Now that she is feeling netter, we are going to resume our game nights with Ty, Dolli, Charlie and Devin...Spoons anyone?? How about Apples to Apples? Candy..you all would LOVE that game!

I have enjoyed my internet friends on Cafemom the past few weeks as they are inspiring me to keep my house cleaner than it has ever been...Dan is pretty pleased about that and I am, too. I am hosting a 'cyber' scrap with these same friends tomorrow...if you want to join us, just set up your scrap table and scrap away..I wll be posting pictures on my cafemom profile page, if you want to come take a peek.

That's about all that's new around here...keep. We aren't due for anymore visitors before Jodi arrives in late August or early Spetember...anyone coming?? We love you all so much and miss you. We speak of you often and pray for you. Catch up with you next week! Let me know what's going on with all of you!

Blessings,

Kristy and the Man Crew

So Much to Tell!

It has been a busy 2 weeks here since I wrote you all last, so I will TRY to keep this brief, but I make no promises...ha ha! I think I shall use bullet journalling as it lends itself to brevity.

  • Dan is still working, but is sitting around most days playing his video games. He would rather work, but I'm just glad that he is employed. ; )

  • Tyler turned 15 this week...where DOES the time go?

  • The boys have discovered the wonderful game of spoons and want to play it every night...spoons, anyone??

  • We made it through the month of June with no visitors, but found ourselves getting lonely, so we were all kinds of excited when Mike and Jay announced that they WERE, in fact, going to make it down here for a few days.

  • They arrived safely last night about 10ish. We all stayed up way too late chatting, even Derek was up past 11pm...and then Mike cooked me breakfast...I like that!!

  • Dolli and John welcomed their little one into the world on Friday morning...a baby girl named Ryan Elizabeth...she looks just like her daddy except for the dimple in her chin which is all her mama...sorry no pictures yet. They are both well now, Dolli is having trouble with her blood pressure and Ryan is struggling to keep her blood sugar at a good place, but both things are doing better each day.

  • The boys finished school on Friday and boy were they happy about that! I also am looking forward to the break that summer brings for me...time to work on other projects, like learning to can veggies or do a little scrap booking, finish that book I started 5 months ago.....

  • For those that don't know, Josh and Lauren have postponed the wedding, which is probably a good thing...a little extra time to grow up and closer to each other.

  • Jodi has managed to still be hanging on to Titus, although it's my opinion that now he is wedged in there so tightly he couldn't come out if he wanted to....ha ha!

  • Work is going well for me, they FINALLY hired a few new people to fill out the crew and now were are working more like 8-12 like we are supposed to, not until 4 am like 2 weeks ago...that's just NUTS!!

  • I'm running out of things to tell you but I saved the best for last...

  • When I got home last night...my 'Shua was here! Mike and Jay brought him along...YEAH! I feel like my little family is complete, at least for a few days. Hurray!

I suppose that's about it for now...I'll keep you posted on any other new developments...but first a few prayer requests...

  • Jodi~that baby has to get out sometime...and soon! She is uncomfortable and tired of being pregnant...the fun is over!

  • Mike, Jay and 'Shua for a fun visit and safe travel home

  • Dolli~John and Dolli are having serious marital issues and are considering a divorce...please pray against this and for a renewal of their marriage especially with their new addition.

That's really and truly it this time...I love you all so much! Missing you and can't wait to see you all again...hopefully soon!

Blessings,

~Kristy
