The Best Thing I've Heard All Week

A brilliant friend of mine called her new boyfriend a 'gentleman savage' on Facebook this week, and it struck a chord in me. It...

No News is Good News, Right?!

To all of you who must think that we have fallen off of the planet recently, I want to say that we are alive and well down here in sunny NM. I have been a bad friend and a worse correspondent, and for that, I humbly apologize. On to the fun stuff! I found this little blurb in a post from a cyber-friend and I thought it was way too funny not to share so here it goes...a.socialization response about homeschooling~

When my wife and I mention we are strongly considering home schooling our children, we are without fail asked, "But what about socialization?" Fortunately, we found a way our kids can receive the same socialization that government schools provide.
On Mondays and Wednesdays, I will personally corner my son in the bathroom, give him a wedgie and take his lunch money.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, my wife will make sure to tease our children for not being in the "in" crowd, taking special care to poke fun of any physical abnormalities. Fridays will be "Fad and Peer Pressure Day." We will all compete to see who has the coolest toys, most expensive clothes and the loudest, fastest and most dangerous car.
Every day, my wife and I will adhere to a routine of cursing and swearing in the hall and mentioning our weekend exploits with alcohol and immorality. If our kids attempt to use the bathroom without permission, we will punish them immediately.
And we have asked them to report us to the authorities in the event we mention faith, religion or try to bring up morals and values." LOL isn't that funny??

Onward and upward, yesterday was Dan's birthday and we had cake with friends and just relaxed at home...it was very nice. I will post a pic of him with his gift when it arrives...hopefully today. He is now 33 and has promised not to play with electricity this year. He is hoping to bale to get the motorcycle on the road this week and that will be the other part of his gift...Zoom Zoom!

Lee and Marsha Bell sent me this pic of my parents this morning...aren't they cute? They are well and planning a visit soon, if we can figure out when Alec, Josh and Lauren, and Dolli are all coming. They don't want to interfere with anyone else's visit.

As for Dolli, soon...that's what she keeps saying...probably this weekend or next. The cat is gumming up the works and needs to get orders form the military to fly...is that goofy or what?!

Josh and Lauren will be here on March 20th for a full week of visiting glory, we are so excited!! Lauren and I will be going dress shopping and talking about the wedding and Josh will be rolling his eyes...LOL! I intend to stay up late visiting and playing cards all night. The boys have spring break that week so they can visit, too.

Alec insists that he will get here first, but that remains to be seen. Losing his phone in the huge snowstorm earlier this month put a dent in his travelling money. He is going to still try to "win" the race.

Jodi is at the top of my prayer list these days...that baby is trying to get out. She been having contractions for almost a week now and she's also having chest pains. I wish I was there to take care of her, but I will have to leave her in God's hands. That's the best place for her anyway.

The new semester finally started for the boys and they are doing better than I expected with the new time management option I am giving them. They are allowed to work when they want as long as it's finished at the appointed time. David has a weekly list to be done by Friday at 4pm and Pat has a daily list to be completed by 4 each day. We are still adjusting to it, but it seems to going well for them both.

Well, like always, this is much longer than I anticipated...maybe that's why no one reads it...no one has that much time...LOL! Anywho, Lost Boys, Mama K misses you so much. And, everyone else, I miss you, too!

Blessings and Hugs all around,
Kristy and the Man Crew

PS. Derek is always cute so here's a picture of him...he was playing nerf guns with David and Pat!
