Happy Birthday Mom!

 Since we can't be together today for your birthday, I'm going to enjoy the memory of last year's birthday, which was a glorious day indeed.

We have done ALL the things today, from being invited to breakfast by Ricky, having coffee and donuts with Karen, trashing the kitchen at least 3 times, teaching Makenzie how to make graham cracker cake, enjoying a special dinner together and laughing over some games. Good stuff!

January 22 Throwback to 2014

 Facebook asks what is on my mind. Hmmm, let's see here. Everything. Nothing. Minute details that matter to no one but me. The prospect of a visit from an old friend. My mom leaving today. Wondering if Hercules got enough sleep last night to be safe at work today. Fretting over taking David to the doctor tomorrow for the cough that won't go away. Trying to remember what's for dinner tonight, and if I'll even have a chance to have any with all the Mama Taxi Running all be doing this evening. Being amazed that I found my homeschool confirmation letter from the current school year, and without spending 3 days looking for it. Appreciating my cozy home, faithful friends and silly sons. Reminding myself that I need to eat breakfast, take my supplements and take a shower before work so I really shouldn't be on FB right now. Wishing some hot tea would magically brew itself for my sipping pleasure. Feeling guilty that I am behind in my morning Bible study. Being thankful for the kind words of a dear friend from yesterday. You know, normal stuff.

So there you have it, the jumbled ramblings of my mind at 6:45 am. Better scoot.

Happy Wednesday everyone! Wow, the difference 7 years makes. And then again, not so much.

Backfilling my blog with old posts

I looked back over my blogging habits from the past few years and am appalled that in 2 of the past 5 years, I've blogged single digit numbers of posts. Dang it. In coming days, I'm going to use the Memories feature on Facebook to put some posts up, especially in the 2019 and 2020 years. Feel free to go rummaging through old posts and if you notice a gap somewhere (in between gasping for breath from laughter) drop me a comment to know you found a spot on the blog that needs sprucing up. DT's friend Samuel spent the night and today they spent the day with me at work before heading off to their first night at Youth Group together. Games were played, food was consumed, laughs were had. A good day all around.

Honestly, the best part of my day was a delightful Skype conversation with 'Shua, Lauren and Caden. I got to make silly faces with the baby, catch up with the grown ups and sing my sweet boy a lullaby...which made Lauren and I both cry. Sweet memories were made. Good stuff.
