The Best Thing I've Heard All Week

NO Pants April 2015: Day 6

I have a confession to make. I nearly wore pants today. I considered it for a full 3 minutes before scolding myself for even thinking about bailing this early in the game. My only excuse is that I am totally worn out. Between Gymnastics season wrapping up, Easter festivities and a late game night, I'm just too tired to be reasonable. However, I caught myself and donned a jumper instead and the day was saved. :)

Outfit: Pink seamed t-shirt, navy jumper, no show socks and pink converse. A few beaded bracelets and a tortoise shell hair clip completed the outfit. (I skipped earrings today since my ear lobs are protesting the repeated usage since I rarely wear earrings at all)
Hi friends! Happy Monday to you all!
Make up: I only wore BB cream today since all the eye rubbing yesterday has my face feeling chapped and raw. This could be considered a fail, but I"m ok with it since I donned the BB cream.

Oh my word. I just remembered why I don't like my picture being taken. HA!

NO Pants April 2015: Day 5 (otherwise known as Easter)

Oh, No Pants April, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
~I have garnered at least one compliment every day since you began (I am old and fat, y'all. Even one is nearly an unheard of happening).
~Even though it's more 'effort' than yoga capris and a ratty t-shirt, the extra 7 minutes seem worth it to me in terms of how I'm feeling about myself.
~Reacquainting myself with outfits that have long been hiding in the back of my closet is kind of like stumbling across an old friend.
~Feeling girly and pretty is foreign concept to me, so I'm seriously enjoying it.

Easter Outfit: long sleeveless black dress, black and white crop jacket, black flats, 2 pair of heart earrings (silver and hematite), beaded bracelets and the front section of my hair pulled back so it wouldn't blow around during the Easter Egg Hunt after church.

Make up: Seriously, way too much. I wore a full face of make up and was sorry all day long. BB Cream, lip balm covered by lipstick, eye shadow and shadow pencil, eyeliner, mascara, and even a little blush. And either mascara isn't my friend anymore or I'm developing allergies because my eyes ran all day and the subsequent rubbing left me a mess. So I'll do better tomorrow. Ya live-Ya learn, right?

PS. I did change once I got home so I didn't ruin my clothes, but since I was home, I didn't break the rules. :)

NO Pants April 2015: Day 4

No Pants April. I could get used to this :) One of the big reasons that I"ve always been a rather *ahem* lazy dresser is I didn't want to get sucked into this hours long getting ready scenario. Well, guess what? I've timed it the last 2 days and it takes me an extra 7 minutes to put on makeup, jewelry and do a little something nicer with my hair. Granted, I'm not doing anything fancy, but it's a definite upgrade on the way I have been dressing. I'm already grateful that I've pared down my jewelry to just a few nice pieces that I've loved over the years to pair with a couple of newer trendy pieces. I'm grateful that I don't have tons of make up choices as they tend to overwhelm and paralyze me, so fewer is better. All in all, NPA is a slam dunk. I've gotten more compliments in the last 4 days that I have in the past 6 months. I could get used to that, also. :)
Confession time. The long unfashionable skirt has made it into rotation already. Today was going to be a crazy long, crazy busy, crazy need-to-work-and-not-worry-about-my-clothes day, so I opted to functionality, not so much fashion. But I still wore a skirt, wore make up and did my hair. So I'm calling it a win.
Outfit: Long black skirt, Gym Magic Polo, monkey socks and tennies. Hair in pigtails, covered with black bandana, silver heart drop earrings, gray and red beaded bracelets.

Welcome Saturday, I am ready for you!

Make up: BB cream, sandy colored eyeshadow, shadow pencil in a sage green color, mascara, a bit of pink blush, and pink tinted lip balm.

Oh goodness, I need to get better at selfies. LOL!

NO Pants April 2015: Day 3

I missed the picture of myself early in the morning because Dan had the day off and I didn't want to disturb him with my endless selfies. (I'm new to the world of selfies, so I have to take about 37 pictures before I get everything the way I want.) Anywho, I digress. Without further ado:

Outfit: blue and yellow checked skirt with light blue underskirt that peeks out at the bottom hem, dark blue t-shirt, brown flats, lightly curled bangs, pearl earrings, and blue and yellow beaded bracelets.

Make up: BB cream, shadow pencil, mascara, and tinted lip balm

UP close and personal

I like this one. Kristy at rest. I like that idea

No Pants April 2015: Day 2

I'm thinking for the rest of the month, these will be nice and short, and hopefully I'll get over my obsessive NEED to explain everything, to death, all the time. Cross your finger, y'all. :)

Day 2: Gray seamed t-shirt, green jumper, no show socks and pink Converse. (because everything goes with Converse) Silver dropped heart earrings, no other jewelry although I did have a tortoise shell hair clip that you can't see in the pictures, and I did curl my bangs.

Day 2: Chavi and me (sorry about the wide angle, I'm working on it)

Day 2 Make up: A more natural look for today, just BB cream, mascara and tinted lip moisterizer

Hi Friends!

Throwback Thursday

Patrick, this is for you. ENJOY :)

Christmas 2007: From left, David 10, Dan, Derek on his lap 2, Tyler 14, Patrick on back of couch nearly 9. He is not choking the dog, I promise, only trying to get her to look at the camera. She's not that cooperative.

No Pants April 2015: Kick off and Day 1

My fellow blogger and FB friend, Kiter has once again declared that it is NO PANTS APRIL! All that really means is that whenever you are out of the house during the month of April, you have to wear something besides pants on the lower half of your body. This can mean shorts, culottes, skirts, or dresses. Last year when I participated, I followed the NO-PANTS rule even when I was at home. I so enjoyed No Pants April 2014 that I decided to up my participation this year. So not only will I be adding accessories this year (don't get too excited, I really only mean earrings/bracelet/hair doodah or the like), but I even trotted off to the store and purchased some make up. I've been toying with the make up idea for a while, so I decided that NPA would be the perfect time to kick it off.
Anywho, I digress. The point of No Pants April is to get out of a clothing rut. And since my fashion rut could be be categorized as the Grand Canyon, I wanted to be more creative that just replacing my fave jeans with my fave long black skirt, which while functionally magnificent, leaves much to be desired in the fashion world. I do not intend to run out and purchase 30 new outfits, but I do want to be creative and climb of the fashion black hole I've been living in the last 20 years or so. ;) To that end, I'll be posting a picture of the outfit and my make up each day. Because nothing keeps the wheels of a project on like the threat of pending public humiliation. LOL!
Day 1 Outfit: Blue t-shirt, long blue/white/yellow printed skirt, and brown flats. 3 beaded bracelets and 2 sets of hematite/pearl earrings
Day 1 of No Pants April 2015

Close up: "Full Face" of make up: BB Cream, eye shadow, liner, and mascara and a lip crayon.

I'm ready for my close up, Mr. DeVille!
